The Natchez Festival of Music and the Goldring/Woldenberg Institute of Southern Jewish Life (ISJL) proudly present Cabaret Under the Dome at historic Temple B’nai Israel. This evening of Broadway and opera classics performed by singers from across the South supports the building’s restoration and celebrates the Jewish community’s important place in the history of Natchez.

Join us at Temple B’nai Israel for an evening of song and celebration. The concert will be followed by refreshments.
All proceeds benefit the Temple B'nai Israel Restoration and Preservation Fund.

Meet the artists

​Eric Botto is a tenor originally from Houston, Texas, currently residing in Mobile, Alabama. He earned his Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance at Colorado State University under the direction of Dr. Tiffany Blake. During his time at CSU, he studied roles such as Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus, Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi, Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, and Count Almaviva in Il Barbiere di Siviglia. In 2013, he participated as a studio artist with Opera Orvieto, singing Don Basilio in Le Nozze di Figaro under the artistic direction of Nyela Basney. He has also appeared as Pong in Mississippi Opera's 2018 production of Puccini’s Turandot. Concert appearances include Uriel in Haydn’s The Creation, tenor soloist in Mozart’s Missa Brevis in C, and a feature in the Fort Collins Symphony’s Video Games Live concert. Eric is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Vocal Performance at the University of Mobile under the tutelage of Dr. Maryann Kyle, where he will be singing the magician in Menotti's The Consul this spring.

​Grace Denton is a DMA student in Voice Performance and Pedagogy at the University of Mobile, studying with Dr. Maryann Kyle.  Grace is originally from Brentwood, Tennessee, and graduated with her Masters in Music Performance from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.  Credits include Madame Giry (Phantom of the Opera), Soloist (Songs for a New World), Miss Todd (The Old Maid and the Thief), The Secretary (The Consul), La Ciesca (Gianni Schicchi), and Sister Mary Robert (Sister Act, the Musical), for which she received a Miss Annie Award nomination.  When not on stage, Grace enjoys being a health nut and eating all the “healthy” desserts.

Harlan Mapp is a master’s student in conducting at the University of Southern Mississippi. A Hattiesburg native and lyric baritone, Harlan's favorite musical theatre roles include the Phantom (Phantom of the Opera), Nathan Detroit (Guys & Dolls), and Ebenezer Scrooge (A Christmas Carol). Harlan’s operatic roles include Ping (Turandot), the Mandarin (Turandot), Count Monterone (Rigoletto), Ko-Ko (The Mikado), Doncairo (Carmen), and the Father (Hansel and Gretel). Harlan worked on the props and set for A Little Night Music and Faust during the 2018 Natchez Festival of Music, and is returning for another year as part of the production team. Harlan attended the University of Southern Mississippi for his undergraduate studies in Music Education.

​Olivia Russell is a soprano from Gulfport, Mississippi, currently residing in Mobile, Alabama. She earned an Associates of Arts degree in vocal performance at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Perkinston Campus. Some of her favorite roles include Little Red (Into the Woods), Veruca Salt (Willy Wonka), Clairee (Steel Magnolias), and Dorothy (The Wizard of Oz​).  She has also performed in Southern Opera and Musical Theatre Company’s productions of Rigoletto, Turandot, and The Mikado. During the summer of 2018, she attended a summer intensive program at NYCDA in New York where she took classes in film, voice, stage combat, and acting under Kevin Breznahan and Alan Rackham. She won first place in the 2018 Mississippi NATS competition Musical Theatre division. Olivia is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre at the University of Mobile under the study of Dr. Maryann Kyle. At the University of Mobile, she has performed as Merriman in The Importance of Being Earnest and is looking forward to performing as La Bergère in L’enfant et les sortilèges and Jack’s Mother in Into the Woods.

Julian Jones, collaborative pianist, is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Musical Arts in Vocal Pedagogy and Performance at the University of Mobile in Mobile, Alabama. A Louisiana native, Julian served as Instructor of Voice and Staff Collaborative Pianist for seven years on the Voice Faculty at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. While serving as Music Director for many productions at ULM, he also performed in local community theatre, as well as at numerous houses of worship. Julian was selected as a 2017 Teaching Fellow at the International Performing Arts Institute in Kiefersfelden, Germany, with Dr. Maryann Kyle, his mentor at IPAI and current major professor at UM.
